A Local Family Practice in the Optical Industry

The Barnett family has been focused on the optical field since the 1930s. Ike Barnett was an optician who made glasses for service members during World War II. He opened Barnett Opticians in Billings, Montana, in 1954. Ike introduced his son, Gary, to the optical industry. This inspired Gary and his wife, Barbara, to open their store in 1972. Valley Opticians is still serving the eyewear needs of Douglas County under the ownership of Todd and Allison Barnett.

Comprehensive Eye Exams

Dr. Laurence B. Danson, an Optometric Physician, provides primary vision care, including comprehensive eye exams. During the examination, the need for prescription glasses will be determined, and an assessment of ocular health will be performed. Dr. Danson also offers other primary eyecare services, including treating and managing ocular disease and evaluations for refractive surgery (Lasik and PRK). Dr. Danson also provides the fitting of contact lenses (extended wear, Toric, and multifocal). Dr. Danson takes the time to listen to and address any questions you may have regarding your examination and its findings.

Once your eye exam is finished and you have selected your frames, we will discuss the available lens technology to ensure you have what will best fit your vision needs. We will use our in-house finishing lab to cut and edge your lenses.

We offer the following lenses: Single vision, bifocal, trifocal, progressive, high-index, photochromic, polarized, and digital. We also offer transition tint or blue blocking antireflective coatings for our lenses.

If you already wear glasses, you know that periodic adjustments are necessary. Come in, and one of our professional staff members will tailor your frames to fit perfectly and feel comfortable – at no charge! Loose screws? Broken frames?
